      有一次,伯格曼偶然看到剧组的两位女演员伸出各自的手在阳光下比较。她们也许只是出于好奇,比一比谁的手长得更好看。可这一场景深深地迷住了伯格曼,他觉得两个女人在阳光下比手,简直是太富有诗意了。他几乎立刻决定将为这一场景写一个电影剧本,并把它搬上银幕。问题是,实际拍摄出来的电影《假面》 　　 本片赢得1968年美国影评人协会最佳导演奖和最佳女主角奖。伯格曼在片中深入探讨人类身心的极度痛苦，题旨深奥，不易明了，但拍法大胆而且具实验性，映象锐利，摄影极佳。此外演员在片中的表演亦非常精湛，为本片增色不少。
