Raj Khanna (Rishi Kapoor) is a wealthy businessman married to Archana (Rati Agnihotri) who is pregnant with twins. His evil step-sister Devyani (Meeta Vasisht) wants his wealth, so she fools Raj into thinking that Archana is carrying on an affair with her friend (Parmeet Sethi). When Raj confronts Archana, she feels insulted and they decide to separate. Archana gives birth to twin daughters but Devyani separates them. Years later, Tina (Kajol No.1) is living with her father Raj and her twin sister Sweety (Kajol No.2) is living with her mother Archana in Glasgow. Tina is a tomboy who loves horseriding while Sweety is demure and introverted. Once there, she meets with Tina and they switch places. This done, they plan to get their parents' together - so that they can be a family again. When Tina meets with Raj, she finds out that he is having an affair with a young woman named Savitri. So when the twins' plan materializes, Raj and Archana finally meet - and do consider living together again - only to find out that Savitri is pregnant with Raj's child.
