      在《 别人的钱》 中，一位新英格兰工厂主的工厂，他终生之奋斗的产业，落入华尔街掳掠者的手中。这是百分之百美国典型人物。乔根森是美国更早些的所谓自给自足的时代的象征：身材高大，有如山核桃木般坚强，且对人富于同情。他拒绝那个来自华尔街的家伙吞并他的工厂。拉里的大笔钱对他不算什么，掠夺者总归是掠夺者。《 别人的钱》 是描写80 年代后期美国的一部讽刺喜剧片。抨击了当代美国社会致命的弱点，即垄断资产阶级的贪婪和唯是图。本片所具有的上述含义是显而易见的。但是影片没有牢牢把握喜剧片的常规，人物形象的塑造也比较肤浅。
