Megumi Takani: Oh! Well, Ken-san is a VERY important person who's going to protect me. How are YOU related to him? Kaoru Kamiya: Me? I'm... Megumi Takani: I'm sure you couldn't be his lover. I mean, such a sweaty little girl can't be what Ken-san looks for in a woman. Kaoru Kamiya: WELL, EXCUSE ME FOR SWEATING! Soujiro: The strong survive. The weak die. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): I followed you! And that's what you get for leaving without even saying goodbye! Kenshin Himura: You came all this way just to punch me? Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): No, you idiot! I came to help you stop Makoto Shishio! Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): [about the bombs he just used to blow up a battleship] I can't believe Katsu let me hang onto something so dangerous! There is no way those are for self defense! [watches the battleship burn] Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): It is a nice parting gift, though... Kenshin Himura: [when everyone else has gone shopping] Well, nothing to do now except wait for them to come back. Anyway, this is the perfect time to fulfill that promise we made. Aoshi Shinomori: Promise? Kenshin Himura: Yeah, when we were in Kyoto we promised to have tea together sometime. Aoshi Shinomori: Ah, yes. Aoshi Shinomori: [shocked] What in the world are you doing, Battousai? Kenshin Himura: The laundry. Isn't it obvious? Aoshi Shinomori: Do you... do this sort of thing often? Kenshin Himura: It's part of my daily routine, on days when it's not raining. Aoshi Shinomori: Your routine? Kenshin Himura: Yeah, I'm just a wanderer now, so I do what I can to help out. I actually find it rather enjoyable. Kenshin Himura: [both sitting in silence staring at a wall] Aoshi? Aoshi Shinomori: Yes? Kenshin Himura: You find this enjoyable, do you? Aoshi Shinomori: Yes. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): Hey, Kenshin, what are you doing? Kenshin Himura: Oh, I was just rummaging. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): Rummaging, uh? What's in the box? Is it food? Kenshin Himura: No, actually it's... Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): Never mind, don't care. Kenshin Himura: Uh, ok. [sighs] Kenshin Himura: That's just like Sano... Kenshin Himura: [about the guy he fought in the Revolution who tried to kill him again last week] We have some things in common, but I wouldn't call him a friend... Misao Makimachi: [punches Kenshin] How do you like that! Kenshin Himura: [confused] How do I like what? Misao Makimachi: Unbelievable, my attacks aren't working on him. He must be some kind of monster. Kenshin Himura: You're just too light. Even if you did connect it wouldn't do anything. Hajime Saitoh: Totsu can look after the boy for us. Kenshin Himura: Who's Totsu? Hajime Saitoh: My wife... Kenshin Himura: [shocked] You're married, Saitoh! I had no idea! Hajime Saitoh: Anyway, she can handle him. She's a very patient woman. Misao Makimachi: She'd have to be to put up with him. Kenshin Himura: Yeah, she must be like a female Buddha... Kenshin Himura: [as Battousai, after being asked to speak alone] I'm not the only one involved in this anymore. [punches himself in the face, then as Kenshin] Kenshin Himura: I'm not the only one involved in this anymore, that I'm not. Kenshin Himura: [about the man who asked him to go to Kyoto with questionable intentions] There's one thing I'm sure of: if he was acting purely out of self interest Saitoh would have killed him long ago. Even in the Meji era, he's still a Wolf of Nebu. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): [after being punched straight in the head with a dagger and being completely unharmed] Is that the best you can do? Even with a dagger? Man, I sure picked a boring fight... Kenshin Himura: Sano hates the Meji government from the bottom of his heart, that he does. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): Got a problem with that? Hajime Saitoh: The only thing I care about is 'ak sok zan' - slay evil immediately. Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): [about the fake Batousai] He has more nerve than the real Batousai... Sanosuke Sagara (Zanza): [watching Kenshin buy radishes] No matter how you look at him, it's still hard to believe he's the legendary manslayer...
