由道格拉斯．希克斯导演的这部影片，讲述一名莎剧演员（文森特．普赖斯饰）因得不到最佳莎剧演员奖，遂迁怒八个评判，一一用莎剧中的杀人手法将他们杀死。故事情节新颖出奇，手法灵活，上构想别具特色的黑色喜剧，最主要的趣味在于那八场不同的谋杀。文森特以出色的演技连贯全场。
