Maureen Whitman: It's as though we're all seeds of evil. Roderick: Winter's coming in and the wolves coming with it. Lady Patricia Whitman: [to Sean Whitman] Don't you know this house is cursed? You are cursed, and Edward's cursed, and everybody's cursed. Lord Edward Whitman: Oona. Of course. Once I showed her mercy. I should have killed her.... Burke. I don't care how you do it - bring Oona to me. Bully boy: [to Maggie] We can make you die a minute every day for a year. Lord Edward Whitman: [to the crowd partying at his castle, when they have been frightened by a wolf's howl] That mad dog that you all thought the product of sorcery is DEAD. [glowering, he adds after a moment:] Lord Edward Whitman: Now drink, dance, and be merry. Magge: I sent nightmare cats to plague the Whitmans. Harry Whitman: Look, Father, an open tomb. Let's see what's inside. Father Tom: What, and whom. [panicking because everyone is dying] Lord Edward Whitman: Light. Light. Sean. Burke. I want this house to shine as bright as noon. [when asked what is written on the gravestone] Mickey: It says, "Born by fire, dies by fire." What it means, don't ask me. It don't even rhyme. Lord Edward Whitman: [proudly, to his sons] You may have heard that they think of me as some kind of monster in the village.
